KBS Builds BDS Capacity of Kaduna State MDA Staff
The Training was delivered under the AGRA-KBS System Strengthening for Agribusiness Development in Nigeria Project.
Kaduna Business School (KBS) has concluded the in-person training phase of The Business Development Service Provider capacity-building programme for staff of Kaduna State Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) who work directly with agricultural small and medium enterprises. The Training was delivered under the AGRA-KBS System Strengthening for Agribusiness Development in Nigeria Project.
State MDAs are often the first point of contact for Agric-SMEs, yet many of their staff have had limited exposure to structured business development services. The programme set out to close that gap and improve the quality of advisory support available to agribusinesses across the state.
Following formal nomination by their MDAs, participants completed the first phase of the programme virtually from 14 to 16 Sept 2026. They then came together from 24 to 26 September 2026 for three days of in-person training, which offered interactive learning, peer exchange with colleagues from other MDAs and practical preparation for the field.
The programme concludes with a fieldwork phase, during which participants will work directly with Agri-SMEs in Kaduna State, assessing business needs and providing advisory support. Participants will submit their fieldwork reports within two weeks, marking the formal close of the programme.
By the end, participants will be better equipped to provide consistent, practical advisory support to Agric-SMEs in Kaduna State, with stronger links to the AGRA-KBS systems-strengthening effort.
